These steps detail how to set a specific static page as the WordPress home page. This can be useful if needing to replace the default recent posts page with a custom home page that has been designed or a specific posts page. To complete this task access to the WordPress administrator dashboard is needed.
Change WordPress Home Page

- Log into the WordPress administrator dashboard
- This is done by adding wp-admin to the end of the domain URL
EXAMPLE: domain.com/wp-admin
REPLACE: replace domain.com with the domain that is being accessed.
NOTE: If a security plugin is being used or a hide URL plugin the login page may be different.
- This is done by adding wp-admin to the end of the domain URL
- Front Page: (if not already created) create the page you want to use as the Static Front Page
- Posts Page: (if not already created) create an empty page
- Give it a Title that will be used on top of your posts list
CAUTION: This step is mandatory as you are modifying the WordPress default setting. Any other content other than the Title will not be displayed at all on this specific page.

- You will see a section titled Your homepage displays
- Select A static page
- Homepage
- Select the page you want for the Static Front Page from the drop-down
- Posts Page
- Select the empty page you created from the drop-down
NOTE: Do not select any page with content, as it will not be displayed.

- Click the Save Changes button
