Here we discuss steps to find email client connection settings within cPanel. These settings with help with troubleshooting connection issues between the server and email client software.
Locating Email Client Connection Settings
- Log into the relevant cPanel that contains the email account being configured
- Go to Email Accounts in cPanel
- Find the email account/address
- On right-hand side click Connect Devices
- Review Secure SSL/TLS Settings (for when an SSL is installed) or Non-SSL Settings (when an SSL is not installed)
Tip: If the domain name itself or subdomain mail.domain.com is suggested in cPanel for the secure SSL/TLS hostname value it is instead recommended to use the actual server hostname. The server hostname value can be found in the browser address bar when logged into cPanel.
Example: secure##.webhostinghub.com
Replace: Replace ## with the actual number combination that is listed in the beginning of the URL when logged into cPanel and exclude everything after secure##.webhostinghub.com.
