These instructions detail how to request an email limit increase on a shared server. If a domain needs to send more than the default limit (250 per hour, per domain) an Email Limit Exemption Request must first be submitted through the Account Management Panel (AMP). The request will then be processed by our Support team.
Request Email Limit Exemption
NOTE: The current sending limit for shared servers is 250 emails per hour, per domain. If that limit needs to be increased, a request needs to be submitted following the steps below.
- On the My Account page in AMP, locate and click the Request Email Limit Exemption icon
- Fill out the form details accordingly:
- Which domain will be sending out the list
- This is the name of the website that will be sending out the emails, such as domain.com
- How many emails do you plan to send out
- This is normally the size of the email list. If you have 500 members, then the number here will be 500
- How often will these emails be sent
- List whether you plan on sending these emails out on a daily, weekly, monthly, or another timeframe
- What is the source of the emails
- Describe how you collected the email addresses (site visitors, purchased, etc.)
- Where is the “Opt-Out” link in each email
- Every bulk mail is required to have an “opt-out” or “unsubscribe” link. Describe where yours is
- What software do you plan to use to send your mail
- List the program that will be handling the email list
- What methods will you use to ‘rate-limit’ the mailing list as it is sent out
- Large numbers of emails sent on shared servers can slow the server down and should be sent in smaller batches to avoid this (also known as 'rate-limiting'. Detail how you will accomplish that
- Which domain will be sending out the list
- Click Submit
NOTE: Once submitted, the request is sent to our Support team to determine if it can be approved and a follow-up will be sent advising of approval or denial.
