Here we cover the steps to suspend or unsuspend incoming or outgoing email for an email account. This can be used to retain the existing emails for an email account that you no longer want to receive email on or to stop a compromised email account from sending spam, among other uses.

Suspend/Unsuspend Email
- Log into cPanel
- Navigate to Email Accounts, located under the Email section
- Click the Manage button next to the email address you wish to suspend or unsuspend
- Under the Restrictions section, select the radio buttons next to the changes you would like to make (e.g. change Receiving Incoming Mail from Allow to Suspend to stop receiving emails, change Sending Outgoing Email from Suspend to Allow to resume sending emails, etc.)
TIP: The Suspend option will cause the server to reject all incoming or outgoing messages, while the Hold option for outgoing email will retain all outgoing messages in a queue. - Click the Update Email Settings button
