When you need to provide access to an account to someone else, you can use Passphrases as a means of verification when contacting us. The most frequently used form of account verification is the last four digits of the credit card we have on file but we also have alternative forms of verification that can be set up in your Account Management Panel (AMP).
The two alternatives are Account Passphrase and Developer Passphrase. The Account Passphrase grants full access to the account to make billing and technical changes and the Developer Passphrase grants access to make technical changes through cPanel.
Your passphrase can include numbers, upper or lower case letters, spaces, and/or an underscore (_). It also must include at least 1 non-whitespace character.
Keep in mind that we are not able to provide hints for what these passphrases are when attempting to use them to verify your account. So, make sure the passphrase you choose is something you will easily remember.
Set up Customer or Developer Passphrase
- Hover over the My Account menu tab and select Login & Security
- Once you have been directed to the new page, locate and click on the Verification section
- Click Edit Passphrase under the appropriate section, depending on your needs
- An Account Passphrase provides account-wide access, whereas a Developer Passphrase limits access to just cPanel

- Once you have entered your desired passphrase, click Save Passphrase to finalize the process
