Here we cover how to process an upgrade, downgrade, or change the term for your current hosting plan via your AMP. If you want to change both the term length and the plan type, you will want to change the term length first, and then process the upgrade or downgrade.
When attempting to upgrade or downgrade, your hosting plan must be current. If your account is past due, you can process the payment due currently and then attempt to change the plan. When you do this, the change plan tool will calculate the payment applied as credit for the unused time and the pricing you see will include that credit.
Processing a change of the plan term will keep the current term length until the next renewal date. At that time you will be charged the amount shown under Renewal Price and then you will notice the Renewal Date has moved out accordingly. If any term changes are made, some add-on subscriptions may update to the new term length.
Change Hosting Plan Term
- While in AMP, hover over the Billing tab and select My Subscriptions
- Locate the line item for the hosting plan in question and click the Change Term button
- Click the drop-down, Select Term, to see the other term options available for your hosting plan
- Once the page reloads, click Submit at the bottom of the page
Upgrade or Downgrade Hosting Plan
IMPORTANT: When attempting to move from a VPS or Dedicated server to one of our Shared servers, your WordPress software and plugins will need to be current, and you will need to have caching installed.
CAUTION: Our shared plans only allow for one cPanel account.
- On the My Account page in AMP, locate and click the Change Hosting Plan icon
- On the next page, select the type of plan to change to
- Select Submit, where you will see all items that are tied to your hosting plan listed
- Select the desired form of payment
NOTE: Venmo is available when you select PayPal.
- Check I Agree to the Terms of Service
- To submit
- For Credit Card payment, Click Order
- For PayPal payment, Click PayPal and process the payment via the pop-out window that appears
- For Venmo payment, Click Venmo and process the payment via the pop-out window that appears
