File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a common and robust method for uploading large files and directories to the server. This guide shows how to upload files using FTP via FileZilla, a popular free FTP software client; however, the information generally applies to all FTP clients.
Uploading Files via FTP
- Connect via FTP
- Navigate to the bottom-right window labeled Filename
- Double-click the document root/directory to upload files to
- Drag files from the left Local Site: over to the right Remote Site: in the document root/directory
NOTE: The left box that says Filename is for the Local Computer and the right box that says Filename is the Server.
